Can paper padded mailers be used in water or humidity?

Paper’s primary weakness compared to plastic is moisture resistance. In wet conditions, kraft paper loses strength. For shipments to high-humidity climates or routes exposed to weather, consider a water-resistant outer coating or a plastic outer bag overwrap — though this partially compromises the sustainability position.
