The Auto-Lock Advantage at Packing Speed
When you’re packing dozens or hundreds of orders, the time spent on box assembly is a material cost. An auto-lock base eliminates the single most time-consuming assembly step in standard carton construction — folding and securing the base. The interlocking base panel geometry creates a self-locking structure when the box is opened from flat: one motion, base locked, ready to fill.

How the Auto-Lock Base Works
The base of an auto-lock carton has four panels that fold in a specific sequence: two minor flaps fold in first, then the major flaps fold over them with interlocking tabs that prevent the base from opening. The geometry means the base can only close in one way — and once closed, it stays closed without adhesive, tape, or additional fastening.
The physics of the design means the base becomes stronger under load: product weight pressing down on the base presses the interlocking panels further into their locked position. A correctly manufactured auto-lock base on a correctly specified board is extremely difficult to open accidentally.
Tuck Top Closure
The lid uses a tuck tab design — a shaped flap that inserts into the front panel and holds through friction. Combined with the auto-lock base, the complete assembly takes approximately 4–6 seconds for an experienced packer. For brands packing over 100 orders per day, this represents meaningful labour efficiency compared to tape-closed alternatives.

Tuck top box performance depends significantly on board specification:
- 300–400gsm solid board: Standard for most retail and ecommerce applications up to approximately 2 kg product weight
